Adrea: Puttin' the Q in RoQ

Introducing James:

James' mom has chosen one of our affordable lifetime plans which means you'll be seeing him again.

I don't know James' parents too well yet, but something tells me from the faux-hawk, they're a little bit rock n' roll.

I'm not sure what it is exactly about James, but the session just inspires commentary.

This picture of mom and baby is one of those motherhood moments I wish I could always capture... the silent communication here precious.

perhaps this next shot won't make it onto anyone's wall - but it is my favorite. It is James' feelings of extreme distrust of the ceiling fan:

Awh, Mom, not in front of my friends~

And oh yes, there's more.

Part Two will be up Sunday or Monday.

Mom & Baby

Business Stuff (2)

I have just started making sure there are labels attached to each post, and noticed we're pretty thin on "couples", "just me", and "nature."

Sarah and I need to get on that.

That means getting you beautiful, but shy people to let us take pictures of you. There doesn't have to be a reason, think of it as helping us out. And giving your grandkids something to cherish... and giggle at ("I can't believe you wore bell bottoms!")

I stalked this little guy around Chris' Front Yard Garden until I got a few shots of him.

Adrea: Kinley In A Basket

Shannon Stewart did a stunning 'baby in a basket' that I am now going to be trying to emulate (in my own way of course).

Adrea: Third Time's the Charm?

Maybe it's just human nature... that when something is a challenge, we get all "Moby Dick" about it. Well, I just have a feeling that it is going to be my goal in life to get a bunch of good sibling shots of these two. Maybe it's because it's so easy to get a beautiful picture of each of them separately? Maybe that's why it's so tempting to go for the duo.

No excuse either. And personally I think some are pretty cute, and, of course, the parents get all of them to decide for themselves, but none that were absolutely spectacular. We'll get there though, I swear! If I knew a good Moby Dick quote, it would go right here.

BUT since they were there, I got a few nice ones. The main reason they came was for my basket test which I think turned out nicely and which you will see shortly.

Adrea: Commercial Work

I photographed this innovative doctor (from a fantastic family) for an advertisment last week.
(this is only a proof, yes I do see the misspelling)

Adrea: That Alley

I really do have to get back there... I hadn't quite got the hang of finding the light yet when we went for this test...
(bet you thought I wasn't going to upload in time today, didn't ya?)

Adrea: Art with Maggie

I know these aren't exactly "say cheese" pictures but Maggie was just such a natural.
You might not put these on the fridge, but I would put them in in a frame.
I promise... this is the last from yesterday's session.
It's just so fun to see what I can get with a willing subject!

One of Those Days...

You know, like when your photographer friend takes a great picture of your daughter... while she's in full ballet camp garb and not that beautiful sundress you've been saving for four months...

Or when that same photographer friend says, let's just try one more time for that "sibling" shot - it will only take a minute... what's the harm... we just need one second of both of them looking sort of kind of generally happy... or artsy calm, whatever. Never trust said photographer friend... she'll just ruin the peace of your morning.

Oh wait, that was me. Hey, I still got cool pictures. They may not have been what I was aiming for... but that hardly matters in the art world, now does it.

Mr. Giggles

Yeah, he giggles when his mom tickles him. But he's going to rule the world someday. Just a heads up.
