Who would have thought the beach would be such a place of freedom to her. It wasn't that many years go that she wouldn't go near the water. It makes me happy to see her so free. And it makes me sad - the contrast - between this sort of freedom and the everyday life of a 6 year old (ALMOST anyway). It is SO seldom that she really gets to let loose. Dance on the couch? Yes I let her do that... as long as she's not too loud, and as long as she doesn't get too near the edge and.. and... and...
