Adrea: Just the Two of Them (Not Quite)

Adrea: Enthusiastic Bear Hunter = Elliot

This kid... you have no idea how cute a boy completely focused on hunting purple bears can be.

This is Elliot. He was remarkably easy going about this whole photo-shoot thing.

But I'll tell you what he was very very serious about. And that was hunting bears. Purple ones.

This is Elliot writing a note for the bears as we left. Or ... it was supposed to be and then his pre-school training got the better of him and he just wrote his name.

I'm not sure what he was telling me here. I think I'd offered to video record a message for the bears so that we could find them later.

Don't let this sweet expression fool you - if there are purple bears out there - he will find you.

This may have been before all the bear talk. I think this was just Elliot running around on rocks.

and peeking through reeds...

Elliot asking where I said the bears were again?

Adrea: Pretty Placeholder

Ugh. I just want to fiddle with pictures, not party plan, but my little munchkin turns 5 tomorrow and even though practically no one was invited - it's a PARTY and I am default-ly in charge.

As with anything "outside" my comfort zone (i.e. home) - the picture opportunities alone give me the strength and enthusiasm to get through such social trials... oh yes, and my little girl's joy - I suppose that is another incentive.

Adrea: Just the Beginning

As I've said before, I try very hard to make sure there is some instant gratification for those families that have just gone thru a small little hell of coercing, tricking, bribing, and cajoling their children into doing what the photographer asks.

SO just the first taste, here is Tim, Erin, Elliot and baaaaaaaaby...

Adrea: The Twirl Factor

It just kills me dropping Abby off at pre-school everyday. There are all these cute kids running by - and it would only take a minute to get fabulous pictures of all of them... but how weird is that? Every morning - crazy Abby's mom wants to take my picture. BUT every now and then, I have my camera handy and a twirling skirt just calls out to be photographed.

Thanks Stefanie for the 5 minute photo op!

Adrea: Strength in Beauty

I am always on such a high after a good photo shoot... though slightly overwhelmed. There are twenty pictures I want to post from today - and of course I don't have time tonight to tweak them all to justice (I really hope that doesn't mean something awful in slang somewhere)... but everytime I tried to pick a few - I just find these two to be the most stunning. I couldn't decide whether to post them right away or wait til the end.

We just had such a good time. Anyway - you'll be seeing more of this shoot in the days to come... or I just might keep posting these two pictures.

Adrea: Streets of Pasadena

Hmm... this could be a series... as this is not exactly a representation of iconic Pasadena... more representative of my route to Target.

(surely this counts as 2 posts... either way, I have a family shoot Friday - whoo hoo - so I should more than make up for my vacation)

Adrea: Sunset Light

Light makes all the difference. I mean... I can't imagine what is more important. And Sunrise and Sunset light is the best... BUT since I don't enjoy mornings - you'll see me work most with Sunset light.

In my effort to OUT I might chase some sunsets for a while. Hold on to your hats, we're gonna be gettin' artsy for a while...

Adrea: Under Construction

There's been a lot of construction in Abby's life in the last year. In every case it's only added to her life. But still, sometimes it gets to be a bit much. (3 posts behind)

Adrea: Oh Where... Oh Where...

is my inspiration? I need time OUT. I think that is the consensus. AWAY didn't work. I took fun pictures but all family and friend oriented... Now that I think about it I can think of some things that would have been great. Artsy and interesting and all that. But... well... too late. Lets see I am... four posts behind. I shall make it up. Its my penance.

Adrea: Cupcake High

As is per tradition of every smart parent everywhere, my little photography subjects got a cupcake bribe after an hour of hard work smiling for my camera.

I am usually not present for the bribery... I mean reward portion of the session and realized I really should be... because everyone loosens up a bit when they've achieved ultimate cupcake happiness.
